    Venue Requirements Guide

Documentation and permits for every venue type

Different venues have different requirements for inflatable rentals. This guide helps you understand what documentation you need based on your event location and type.

Quick Answer: Our Insurance & Compliance

Redline Inflatables carries $5 million liability insurance and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming your venue as additionally insured upon request. We are a TSSA-licensed operator in Ontario, meaning our equipment meets provincial safety standards and is inspected annually. WSIB clearance certificates are available for venues that require proof of workers' compensation coverage.

    Understanding Venue Types

    • Private backyard: Simplest setup, minimal requirements, no permits typically needed
    • School/university grounds: Insurance certificate (COI) required, TSSA may be required
    • Municipal parks: Permits required, liability waivers, booking confirmation needed
    • Corporate/commercial properties: Property manager approval, COI naming company
    • Church/community center: Approval from leadership, indoor or outdoor considerations
    • Public events with admission: TSSA licensing required for inflatable operators

    Insurance Certificates (COI)

    • A Certificate of Insurance proves we carry liability coverage for your event
    • Commonly requested by schools, municipalities, and corporate venues
    • We carry $5 million liability insurance coverage
    • We can name your venue as 'Additional Insured' on the certificate
    • To issue a COI, we need: venue name, address, event date, certificate holder contact
    • Request COIs at least 5 business days before your event
    • COI is included at no extra charge with your rental

    TSSA Requirements by Venue Type

    • Private backyard parties: TSSA licensing typically NOT required by law
    • Public events with admission/donations: TSSA-licensed operator required
    • School/municipal events: Often require TSSA-licensed operators by policy
    • Corporate events: Check with your venue - policies vary
    • We are a TSSA Licensed Operator - ask us for our license number
    • TSSA-certified equipment is inspected annually for safety compliance
    • When in doubt, book with a TSSA-licensed provider for peace of mind

    Park & Municipal Venue Permits

    • Permits are typically required for city parks and public spaces
    • You (the renter) are responsible for obtaining permits from your municipality
    • Common permit requirements: event date, times, expected attendance, activities
    • Apply for permits 2-4 weeks in advance (varies by municipality)
    • Some parks require proof of operator insurance - we can provide this
    • Windsor, Essex, Sarnia, London all have different permit processes
    • Contact your local parks department or city hall for specific requirements

    School Board & Institutional Requirements

    • Most school boards require: TSSA license, COI naming school as additional insured
    • WSIB (Workers Compensation) clearance certificate may be required
    • Safety documentation and supervision ratios often requested
    • Point of contact: principal, facility manager, or school board office
    • Book early - school events require more lead time for paperwork
    • We have experience working with Windsor-Essex schools and can guide you
    • Request all required documents at least 2 weeks before your event

    Corporate Event Requirements

    • Property management approval required for most commercial properties
    • COI may need to name property owner AND company as additional insured
    • Setup and teardown windows often restricted by building management
    • Surface and anchoring approvals needed (indoor events may prohibit stakes)
    • Some venues require vendor/contractor registration
    • Corporate family days often require TSSA compliance - confirm with HR
    • We work with many Windsor-Essex businesses and can provide all documentation
